Real Time

I'm canning in the kitchen right now.  (Breaking news!)  Susie is perched on the counter with her back to the sink, washing dishes with her usual inefficiency and chatting away.*

Susie: Thoughtfully, "Mama, would you rather go to Africa or Ohio?"

I burst into peals of laughter...

Susie: Genuinely bewildered, "Why are you laughing?  What's so funny?"

Me: "Um.  Because I thought it was a funny pairing."  (For the record: Africa wins out.)

*In the dusty vaults, I have a picture of her seated just so. If I wend my way back here again someday, I'll post and caption it.
