NIxie's Second Party of the Year

The day after we returned from Long Island, we celebrated Annika's 13th birthday with her birthday supper (deep-fried chicken fingers, honey mustard sauce, green bean medley, potato wedges, and salad).  She opted for a birthday toffee-caramel cheesecake this year instead of a cake, and not one person complained.  Think of that.  Not one!

She is such a joy, and we were happy to gather around and sing and celebrate her momentous year.

May God continue to give you overflowing joy as you grow, Annika Arden.  Joy in easy times, and joy in hard-- through growing pains and the delights and wonders of this expanding world, both.  We love you!

Abby- seriously. You are KILLING ME with all these desserts! I have been food journaling, being very careful of what I eat and running 5 days a week all of April and haven't lost any weight. And I am THIS close to giving up.

And then you bring out the cheesecake pictures?!

You know how I can't resist cheesecake.

And you were the one that created that beast in me.

AGH!

(Is there any left over you could bring to church on Sunday?!)

Don't give up. You look wonderful! More importantly, I bet you don't feel lethargic and fog-brained and ancient-backed like your friend Abigail.

Also,
DON'T THROW THAT CHEESECAKE PIECE IN THE GARBAGE.
And enjoy it before your birthday, for Pete's sake. I can make more!
