Eve of Christmas Eve (December 2022)

In which we trim the children, and then we trim the tree, just like the year before, only with everyone a year older.

I sometimes wonder what will thread my months together when all the traditions dependent on children-threads are no more.  I guess I'll have to make new ones best suited to a grouchy old lady and a grouchy old man living together in a big, clean house.

Joel is not a child, but he ended up being here for Christmas, after all, and even though he didn't stick around for the group picture, we roped him into a quick portrait.

Trimming the children:

I can't stop laughing at Aidan's little Calvin face.

Then we took down the Jesse Tree ornaments and trimmed a Christmas tree in haste, for it was late, and the natives were grumpy

Ransom entered into it all with gusto this year. He probably hung and rehung his nutcracker ornament a dozen times.

Yeah- those natives look SUPER grumpy with their cheerful grins and smiling eyes.

Okay, for the sake of full disclosure, it was mostly the natives' MAMA who was getting super-grumpy.
