Gifts Two
Because I had some fabric leftover after making Millie's sling, I decided to honor Annie's wish to have the same fabric, which meant that Susannah's could be made with Annie's, which, in turn, left me with an extra yard of fabric that had been destined for Susannah's sling.
I made some comfort for their babies, who've slept on hard cardboard since we were handed down this bunkbed after our move from Buffalo. Mattresses and pillows trimmed with some scrap ricrac from Mopsy pleased the girls and required very little time to make.
There was even enough left over for crudely made, felt-lined sleeping bags for the littlest ones.

The making and giving of handmade gifts is so wonderful. You did quite a fair amount of sewing-several different gifts and all in three's no less...
More than the specialness of the gift, you are conveying a wonderful message to your girls through the making of them. There is such value to handmade things. And now I will get off my soapbox.
Is there room on that soapbox for me?
I'll join you.
these are great too!!!!
this reminds me: my mom used to make dresses for me, with a dress for my doll to match, usually each christmas. it was so special. and those are the gifts that i remember.
