Making the Grimms Less Grim

Another of their new favorites is to act out the tale of Snow White, with a few minor improvements. For instance, after I (as the stepmother disguised) give Snow White the poisoned apple, a passing mermaid swims to rescue her. Then Snow White, revived and seeking revenge, brings the apple back to me. I bite into it and, with guttural shrieks, die in paroxysms. It's really something to watch, I'm sure.

Teaching the girls to hone their acting skill already, are you?

I think it's great that you play with them (even if your only real role is to die on cue). I think as "grown-ups" we quickly forget how much it meant to us as children to be played with by grown-ups. I think that maybe it's very encouraging for kids, as they are always being encourged to grow up (to take on responsibility, etc), to also be met where they are, as kids.

Yeah, I got tired of it after a dozen or so rounds, though, and went off to be an adult and do the dishes while they continued really living.
