Bring in the Clowns
John's spent quite a few recent Saturdays working overtime, so he planned an adventure for us this past Saturday. We started the day off at the Strawberry Festival in Owego, but since there was an bewildering lack of strawberries, we left after the parade. The parade was great! Here it is, in its sans-strawberry glory.
Pay careful attention to Mildred's dress and hairstyle, please.
There were elderly musicians,
elderly farmers beating out the tempo,
little girls on the lookout for tossed candy,
long lines of tractors,
followed by an oversized mixer,
and, lastly, Mildred imposters. Weird, huh?

She almost fooled me, but then I noticed that her hair was a little bit shorter and that she carried the wrong style of wooden basket.
