Through the Woods
After we crossed over the river, we got a bit lost
Instead of using the L.I. Expressway, this time we took a long and winding road to reach Grandma and Grandpa's house. There were the obligatory, unplanned detours, too, like a visit to the small butterfly garden we saw by the side of a nursery.
She looks innocent here, but she was actually hunting
for the winged ones and for these. I didn't let her catch the butterflies--many wings were already torn from battles with clumsy others-- but she was gentle with the stripes.
In addition to the butterfly hut and a dazzling array of plants, the nursery also had an impressive selection of lawn ornaments and fountains.
It was very hot.
We appreciated their thoughtfulness.
