Envelope Two

When I saw the highway signs for Boston, I thought it was our final destination until John told me that there were four more Envelopes of Mystery.

John and I spent part of our original honeymoon in Boston six years ago. We left with no hotel reservations and spent our honeymoon night in a Park N' Ride parking lot. We had no set plans, no itinerary, and no expectations, and everything from the ice cream shop to the bowling alley, from the NESFA clubhouse and its owl-eyed, middle-aged members to the BLT's we ate stretched out on the ballfield unfolded with complete perfection. This honeymoon anniversary followed suit.

On our original honeymoon, we sat on a rocky beachfront before walking from Boston bookstore to bookstore. When our hunger demanded food, a bookstore owner suggested Vinny T's, a nearby Italian restaurant. The large portions and savory food became the stuff of myth over the last few years, and when I told Millie about Vinny T's several weeks before our anniversary, John began to hatch the plan for our grand Mystery Tour.

All told, we spent two hours in Boston, for the sole purpose of eating at Vinny Testa's, only with three extra diners this time around.

Here are the stunning pictures I took in those two hours.

The girls waiting for our departure from the city...

A blue building reflecting sky outside my window....

And good ol' Vinny T's, whizzing by outside of John's window....
