Oliver's Pillow

The machine's inaugural stitches made  this pillow for Joel and Sonya in Oliver's honor.  Small and silly though pillow-making is, I felt the need to do something tangible for them during this time, and distance makes difficult the practical things.

The applique and pillow construction were by machine, but the embroidery was by hand, which provided stillness in which to pray for them and their family.  The scripture is from Psalm 52, which they used in Oliver's service.  May its truth bring measures of comfort.

What a lovely, lovely sentiment.

As you said, making handmade tidbits for people allows you to spend time thinking and praying for the receiver. It is a lovely pillow.
