They play on the ground, which is typical when we go to a playground, but then come these. Begs for a boost, aches to be higher, trees to lift us away from ourselves.


Susannah, with arms flung upward and stretched to their limit, cried, "'Ere, 'ere, 'ere" to this tree. I imagined she was asking it to bend over, all spindles and knobs, to scoop her up. She didn't seem too disappointed when it remained deaf and rooted.

I love your commentaries. I never would have thought of that having just looked at them, but once you put the idea in my head-that is just how it should BE!

I'm glad you enjoy them because that's the backdrop of the pictures, and I like to remember them in their context, too.
