The Least of These

Luci was not out of town on Christmas Eve; I simply put her to bed on time, while the girls stayed up way too late. I took some snapshots during daylight hours, though, so here's a small helping of Luci.

She was hungry.

She gave me this look when I told her not to munch on the table.

And she gave me this look when I suggested she munch this bird instead.

This baby is cute. All of your girls look so different from the others, I love it. I almost hope that all of your babies are girls. I have to admit to a certain amount of jealousy at all of those girls.
Not that I don't like all of these roosters...it's just that hens are so pleasant, and rarely attack with their shrp little spurs like these boy creatures.

What I really want to say it that YOU NEED TO POST MORE.
I need the encouragement. I love your family.
You have a community duty.

Yeah, the only roosters we've ever had are the kind that can be culled when they misuse their spurs. Your roosters take more patience, love, and steadfast care, and you're lucky enough to keep them, every last one!

I always thought I'd have boys, until I had girls. I couldn't imagine girls. Now I can't imagine boys. (Maybe we can trade a few sometime?)

I will try to post more. I love you and yours, too, and wish this community had more flesh on it!

It's better than nothing, I think, and it is clearly our fault for living across the country.
I wish that you were on Facebook to see the funn-est picture Jay Jennings posted of you and your roommates from Houghton years. You should get the Trawlerman to show you!

(And I neglected to say that I LOVE this post, and the hungry-happy mouth Luci makes when presented with a delicous paper bird.)

Is the picture one that I WANT to see?! I have such warm memories of college days, but I can only imagine what unflattering images Jay has tucked away...

John's rarely on facebook and I don't think I'll ever join the party, but sometimes I briefly toy with the idea, because I could relive the Houghton Cafeteria Table!
